Many people believe that being skinny equals a good metabolism and this could not be farther from the truth.
Our thyroid is the main control of our metabolic rate or how many calories our body burns to function on a daily basis. One thing we need to note is when we put a lot of stress on our body our thyroid likes to slow down our metabolism to conserve energy especially when we are not nourishing it adequately. We start to see our pulse slow down, our body temperature drop, or digestion slows down, etc.

Eating the wrong types of foods
Lacking sleep, hydration, and sunlight
Living in a state of chronic stress from not prioritizing their health.
